Hanako: Fall Model + Headshot Session

Our blog has been quite for too long so we’re excited to finally post a session that is long overdue! We had a crazy hectic year last year with moving, moving, moving, and moving again so took a much needed break for a few months to settle into our new house and have been working on some things we are excited to unveil later this year. Hopefully everyone has had a great start to the new year! We’re definitely looking forward to this year with some awesome clients. This post goes all the way back to November. Hanako is a friend and one of our very favorite clients who we’ve had the opportunity to work with on numerous occasions beginning back in 2007. She’s starting up her modeling portfolio again after several years on hold and we were more than happy to help her do that. Heathyrre Kautz came along to provide makeup for the session and did a beautiful job! We were so glad we got to work with her again and highly recommend her (she also does wedding makeup so make sure to check out her site if you are in need of a makeup artist for your wedding). Our session ended up covering two days as we got rained out part way through the first day but the second time around was beautiful weather. We started at the South Platte Reservoir and then headed to Downtown Littleton for some night photos. I love the pictures we got especially of her laughing (that’s Hanako to a T) and of course had an awesome time- it’s impossible not to with Hanako!! Here’s a sneak peek from our shoot.

Model: Hanako

Makeup: Heathyrre Kautz of Heathyrre Kautz Couture

Tarika: Denver Actress Headshots

A few weeks back we met Tarika to take some acting headshots for her portfolio. In addition to acting she works with the Nathan Yip Foundation who we had the pleasure of getting connected with a few years back after a friend and one of our favorite brides (Hanako) introduced us to this wonderful organization. Tarika needed some headshots for her acting portfolio but while we were out taking photos we also took some additional portraits that she could use outside of just her portfolio. She wanted an urban look for the images and the lower Highlands neighborhood of Denver was the perfect location- I think this is one of my favorite places in Denver to shoot! ┬áIt was a tad windy and as soon as the sun started setting it went from a pretty nice day to COLD really fast (it was the end of October so I guess we can’t complain too much). We had a great time working with her and found some really cool places we hadn’t photographed before. Tarika was so nice and as the photos show obviously very photogenic! Here’s some of my favorites- enjoy!
