Kristie + Matt: Maternity Portraits Highlands Ranch

Do black & white maternity portraits of a guy half naked holding on to a half naked pregnant women against a black backdrop really inspire that many people to have maternity pictures taken? If you google maternity portraits chances are those type of pictures will be common among the top images presented. I don’t get it but to each his own right? Our take on maternity portraits is a little different. I think they should be fun and relaxed and we love utilizing people’s homes and the beautiful outdoors to capture such an exciting time in people’s lives. We’ve known Kristie and Matt for a couple years now. We photographed their wedding back in 2009 and quickly became friends. They know how to have fun and are two wonderful people to be around. When we heard Kristie was pregnant we were so happy for them! We know they will be the best parents any child could ask for. Kristie and Matt are having a little boy and have chosen the name Ethan (love the name). We had a great time taking a few maternity portraits for them at their home and then up at Daniels Park. The photos as the sunset turned out soooo awesome! Here’s a sneak peek from our session last week.

Her Life Magazine Denver: March Trendsetter

If you like dance, yoga or gymnastics you’ll love the march trendsetter for Her Life Magazine. The magazine featured Aerial Dance over Denver for this issue and our aerialist models, Megan & Michelle, made hanging from a trapeze and drapery look so easy (which I can say from trying is not at all easy). Not to mention they made it look so elegant at the same time. This shoot was a ton of fun for us. We had no idea there was anything like Aerial Dance over Denver around and to get to photograph them in awesome tutus and shirts provided by House of Arden and Creme de la Couture made it even better. We decided our theme for the shoot was going to be stage lighting. These ladies are performers so it only seemed fitting for the subject. Megan & Michelle did a great job posing for us and we love the way the pictures turned out! Check out the links below to see more about everyone involved in this project!

Her Life Magazine: Elise Wiggins

For the March cover of Her Life Magazine we had the opportunity to meet and photograph Elise Wiggins- Executive Chef of Panzano. Elise could not have been easier to work with! She’s so down to earth and so easy going it made the day such a blast. We first met up with Elise at her home to photograph her in her new dream kitchen. She had so many great ideas and wasn’t afraid to have fun- even got a shot of her “hugging/presenting” her oven and range- it was awesome! After spending a little time at her home we headed to Panzano for a few additional photos in the restaurant. My stomach was growling just being in there- the food looked WAY too good! If you haven’t tried Panzano yet you NEED to try this restaurant out. Everything from the atmosphere to the food- and of course their awesome Executive Chef, makes this place IT. You don’t get named among the top 5 restaurants in Denver for nothing (not to mention Elise has also been named Colorado Chef of the Year in the past). The march issue of Her Life Magazine featuring Elise is now online for the month of march at http://www.herlifemagazine.com/denver so make sure to check it out to read more about this wonderful woman! Here’s some of our favorite images from the day that you can see in the magazine as well as a couple additional favorites.
