Her Life Magazine Denver: February 2011 Trendsetter

In addition to photographing the cover each month we also will be photographing the fashion story for Her Life Magazine. For the first issue we had the opportunity to work with a local boutique, Chic Couture, to feature some of their clothing. Since Denver was not covered in snow at the time we decided we’d try to shoot outside. Of course the temperature was supposed to be pretty warm that day but like many warm days here in the winter the wind always seems to bring down the temperature significantly. Our model Katie was so awesome though! She was such a trooper in the cold weather even though she was freezing. Everyone worked together to make this a great shoot and we’re so happy with the way it turned out. Thank you to Brittney and Erin for doing such a great job with hair & makeup and to Access World Talent for allowing us to work with Katie for the day. Here’s a few images that you’ll find in the magazine for the February 2011 Trendsetter ¬†and a few other favorites- enjoy!

Her Life Magazine: Denver Magazine Photography

Her Life Magazine is now in Denver! And…. yours truly will be photographing the cover and fashion stories for this awesome women’s magazine!! We’ve been busting at the seems since December awaiting the release of the first issue this February and are so excited to finally be able to share some images from our photo shoots. Her Life Magazine is a local women’s magazine focusing on issues important to women. Every month the cover story will feature a local inspirational lady and inside you’ll find topics ranging from fashion to health and beauty. We are so thrilled to be a part of this magazine and have already met some great people along the way. The magazine will be distributed to various locations throughout the city including hospitals and doctor’s offices and boutiques. You can also check out the current issue online each month at (the march issue is now available online). For the first issue in February we had the opportunity to meet and photograph Sarah Schachterle. Check out the February issue to hear her inspirational story about overcoming the challenges of being diagnosed with Ventricle Tachycardia but not giving up on her life as a dancer and choreographer. She’s amazing! Here’s some of the photos that you can find in the first issue and a few additional favorites.

Joann Model Portraits: Denver Junkyard

In some places of the country abandoned buildings and salvage yards may be in plenty of supply but for some reason Denver apparently isn’t a fan of leaving things unkept. Off the top of my head I can think of less than a handful of abandoned buildings in the area and when it comes to utilizing them for photography well I’m not sure if I could even name one that would be possible to even get into (not even to attempt illegally trespassing into). When Joann contacted us with her idea of photographing in a junkyard we didn’t have any idea that finding one to use would be just about as impossible as finding an abandoned building- but fortunately not entirely impossible. We were so excited when we finally found a salvage yard that was kind enough to allow us to use their property for our shoot. Joann is just getting her start into the modeling world and after working with her just one time I have to say that she is a real natural. She’s not only beautiful but a very sweet person as well- we were so glad we had the opportunity to work with her! Joann’s sister and husband also came along for the shoot and we had a great time with all of them- even got a few shots of Joann and her husband together! It was a fun day, although a bit muddy, but we got some great shots for her portfolio and even took one with the cutest junk yard cat who followed us around all afternoon. Here’s a few from our day.

Mason Baby Portraits: Highlands Ranch

January has been a busy month for us- it’s hard to imagine that it’s already over and we’re now in February! A couple weeks ago we had the pleasure of meeting Nami & John and their two adorable boys, Mason & Tyler. Mason is a little under six months old and was all smiles almost the entire session! His big brother Tyler kept us entertained while we gave Mason a few breaks from the camera and made the day that much more fun. We had such a great time photographing their family and love the way the photos turned out! Everyone was so nice and so easy to work with. We’re really excited to get to work with them again later this summer when we take pictures of the whole family together. Can’t wait to work with them again!
