Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! That was the general sentiment we all had the afternoon of Erinn + Will’s engagement pictures the first week of JanuaryThese two braved the chilly temps and even though we know they were cold they both did a great job of not looking like they were freezing. The sunny skies were also a plus adding to the illusion of a warm winter day. Since moving to Castle Rock we’ve wanted a chance to photograph in our little downtown and we finally got the opportunity and LOVED it! We met Will way back in 2011 when he was in Cydney + Kiel’s wedding and then met Erinn this past summer. They have a destination wedding planned for this summer and while we won’t be photographing that for them we were happy to get the chance to capture this special time in their lives. We love getting to photograph engagements and it’s even more fun when you have an awesome couple to work with! Despite the temperatures we had such a great time and even stuck around town for a few pictures after dark with the town’s Christmas lighting- very cool! Thank you guys for a fun afternoon and wishing you much happiness in your future together!
I know, I know… back in November we said our 2016 season was finished but a few days before the New Year we had one final session with the Coleman + Vigorito family. Back in 2010 we photographed Robyn + Chuck’s wedding along with a couple other sessions for them (a senior session for their daughter Jade and an extended family session) so we were really excited to get to work with them again. Since Robyn’s parents were in town for the holidays we tentatively planned family pictures for the week after Christmas provided the weather would hold. Fortunately we had a day with perfect weather for late December and so we were able to meet them at 17 Mile House Farm Park. It was so nice getting to see everyone that afternoon and meet some new members of their family! Their daughter Christina is now married with two adorable little girls and Jade’s boyfriend and dad were also included as part of the family. There’s so many spots to photograph at this location that even in the winter it made for a perfect backdrop for their pictures. We had a great time with all of them and are excited to share some of our favorites- enjoy!
Wow this year has flown by! Kind of crazy to think this week is Thanksgiving and before we know it Christmas and New Years will be here. We have so much to be thankful for this last year and are so appreciative of each and every one of our wonderful clients! We are truly blessed! The end to our 2016 season came a little earlier than usual since I had some work travel that took up the rest of the fall but at least we ended with one of our favorite couplesLast year in November we photographed Katie + Felix’s maternity pictures and this year we had the privilege of photographing both their parents along with their new family of 4- we can’t forget their adorable pup Stella . It was very nice to see their parents again after Katie + Felix’s wedding back in 2011. And of course we were excited to meet their newest addition, little Felix, who is SOO stinkin’ cute! We’re so happy for them! They have the cutest little family! We met up with their families in Golden at one of our favorite spots near downtown. Despite the 50 other photographers there (all women minus myself… all wearing red plaid and boots by the way) we still managed to get some great photos. Okay maybe not quite 50 but it was CRAZY! I haven’t been surrounded by that many photographers outside of attending photography workshops. Thanks guys for sticking it out for the afternoon among the sea of people. Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!
I’ve worked with Chip for a few years now and after talking about family pictures for quite some time we finally worked out the details for a session last month with his wife Jen and their 12 year old son Logan. We met up with the Eschenfelder family down in Larkspur at one of our favorite spots- particularly in the fall. They wanted a true Colorado feel and between the trees and the open field against the hills in the backdrop I think we got just that! Not to mention the light couldn’t have been prettier that afternoon! While we love getting to photograph big families and new families with babies it was a nice change of pace to photograph just the three of them… a tad more relaxed without all the people and little ones haha. We had a great time getting to work with their family and got some beautiful pictures that we are so excited to share! Here’s some of our favorites- enjoy! P.S. if you need ideas for what to wear for a family session they did a great job coordinating colors and patterns and are a perfect example of what to wear.
Almost exactly a year ago we were photographing Tammy + Greg’s maternity photos at the University of Denver and now their pup Franklin isn’t the only baby anymoreGrayson was born not long after our session with them last year and will be a year old next month. Oh my is he a cutie! Talk about a happy and smiley baby!!! Just can’t help but smile every time we look at these pictures from their session. Since DU made such a great backdrop last year for their maternity photos and they enjoy spending time in the area it was the perfect spot for their family session. The leaves were just starting to change adding some beautiful fall colors to the day and of course what is more fun for little kids than playing with the leaves! As usual we had a great time getting to see Tammy & Greg again and loved meeting little Grayson. So excited to share some of our favorites from their session and very happy to see what a beautiful little family they now have- Grayson is one lucky little guy. God Bless!
Usually a few times of year we get the chance to photograph an extended family session. It’s a great way to get pictures of families including the grandparents and we always enjoy capturing these pictures for people. Two weeks ago we met the Bramwell/Bloomquist Family up at Elk Meadow Park in Evergreen. They are friends of the Leonard Family (in fact Ryan was the best man in their wedding all those years ago) so we were excited to get a chance to work with them. Jana and Ryan have a 16 month old named Gunnar who is a little cutie even if he wasn’t quite sure about having his picture taken. He probably thought we were all a little crazy trying to get him to smile but we managed a few Since the day was fairly overcast we didn’t have to compete with the sun to get clear views of the mountains which made for a beautiful backdrop. Of course so did the changing aspen trees at nearby Elk Meadow Dog Park- not something we get to capture too often! We very much enjoyed getting to meet their families that afternoon- here’s some of our favorites.
My favorite time of year is finally here and as always fall makes a perfect backdrop for pictures! The end of September we met up with the Rothe family at one of our favorite locations- Lair O’ the Bear. It’s hard to believe it has been 8 years since we originally photographed Angela + Robert’s engagement session the fall of 2008! While we have loved the new opportunities we’ve had since leaving wedding photography 2 years ago we will always be grateful for the wonderful people we met during those wedding years- especially couples like Angela and Robert! We had such a great time working with them all those years ago for their engagements and wedding and were so excited when we heard from them about photographing their family this fall. 2 1/2 years ago they were blessed with an adorable little boy who is not only adorable but has the cutest personality on top of it! Harrison loved getting to see his picture on the back of the camera- even if it was before you actually took the picture hahaWe had so much fun seeing them again and getting to photograph their beautiful family! They even brought along their doggie Mischa who was so good for the entire session- love the pictures of her and Harrison together. It was such a pleasure getting to work with them again and meet Harrison. Here’s some of our favorites from the day!
